Description
This Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) spent two hours preening itself on the beach and watching people. It is a resident bird at Bunche Beach in Fort Myers, Florida that I have seen almost every time I've gone there. It isn't afraid people or cameras, I watch several people snap away before I started taken pictures at approximately five feet away. I normally would not attempt to get this close to a wild bird, I waited to the group of people moved away and slowly moved toward the bird talking to it the whole time.

WOW !! Easy to see why William of "Wild Birds Of The World" picked this image as one of the weekly "WOWs" Don. Congratulation !! The clarity is exceptional. The feather details are superb. The colors are bold, correct and perfect. The eye is clear and demands attention. This is a "sure-fire" winner. Congrats again !! (L/F) Bill and Deb Hayes

Thank you so much Bill and Deb, I know we share a love for birds and nature and the art of capturing the details that make a picture more than a snapshot!! Thanks again for your support!!
